This year for 10×10 we have chosen the neighbourhoods of and around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. A remarkable aspect of the London’s approach to the 2012 Games was an absolute focus on legacy.
The legacy not only for the future of this part of London, but the legacy for communities world-wide: through inspiring children and young adults to realise their potential and fulfil their ambitions. That has deep resonance with Article 25’s work with some of the most vulnerable communities across many continents. Our mission is to help improve their futures, often in the aftermath of disasters, through building excellent, resilient infrastructure and space for health, education and fulfilling livelihoods.
Drawing Weekend in Stratford
To launch Article 25’s flagship fundraising event 10×10 Drawing the City London, we hosted a Drawing Day near the Olympic Park in Stratford.
The Drawing Day was an opportunity for all participating artists to join us for an introduction to the charity and the background to the event, an opportunity to visit their square and start work on their piece, as well as a chance to meet and network with other artists, architects and designers contributing to 10×10 Stratford.
